Two mechanisms identiied herein may encourage the professional integration of apprentices acquiring CAP or BEP vocational training qualiications. On the one hand, the link between apprentices and their host company may lead to them being kept on in the company after their training period. On the other hand, the apprenticeship may better prepare them than the conventional academic course for the trades targeted by the diploma, providing a comparative advantage in this segment of the labour market. While being kept on in the training company seems to characterise favourable career paths, the 'irst job' qualiication-trade relationship does not appear to indicate a more favourable outcome three years after the end of training. © 2018 Documentation Francaise.
