The difficult situation of young people from ethnic minorities, during the transition from general education to apprenticeship, is well documented in Germany. There are some signs for barriers concerning especially the access of youngsters of ethnic minorities to dual vocational education and training (VET). Research on the results of dual VET can rarely be find, especially regarding the output and outcomes of youngsters from ethnic minorities in Germany. This contribution therefore aims to investigate the success of young people at the end of dual VET and during the transition to labor market taking into consideration the ethnic origin as well as the impact of individual, social and institutional factors. © 2017 Documentation Francaise.
