This chapter explores the critical issue of poverty and its impact on Black communities, focusing on the role of nonprofit organizations in breaking the cycle of poverty. In the context of increasing social and economic disparities, empowering communities through targeted programming and services is essential. The purpose of this chapter is to examine how nonprofits can adopt evidence-based best practices into their programming to increase their poverty-fighting effectiveness. This chapter draws on research-backed approaches to program implementation and resource allocation to interventions proven effective in poverty alleviation. By adopting a holistic approach to poverty-fighting, nonprofit organizations can empower Black communities to achieve greater economic stability and resilience, contributing to long-term systemic change. © 2025, IGI Global Scientific Publishing.
