Product development plays a key role in sustainability, as it sets the course early on for costs, quality, timing, and aspects such as product architecture, materials, and lifespan. This paper presents a potential model that is designed taking into account psychological insights in change management to not only enable product developers to identify areas with the greatest potentials but also to encourage them to take actions to promote circular economy and sustainable product development. © 2025 The Authors.
