In this study a proposal is presented for teaching the subject of data analytics supported by the pedagogical strategies of project-based and collaborative learning. The results of its implementation in two undergraduate programs in public universities from the Colombian Caribbean region are analyzed. The methodology applied is qualitative, which includes direct observation of students in both programs, content analysis of the activities conducted in the projects, and the final courses’ evaluations. The results show that planned and pedagogically supported activities that include technologies, enabled students to appropriate data management techniques to meet needs and make decisions based on them. It is concluded that the implementation of active pedagogical strategies (supported with technological tools) strengthen professors’ teaching processes and helped to improve students’ learning results and abilities to analyze realities from data. © (2023), (Centro de Informacion Tecnologica).
