The selection applied at the entry in apprenticeship sheds light on a border area, the scenes between school and entry into vocational training. In a context of disqualification of in-school vocational training and valorization of in-company vocational training, the entry into apprenticeship becomes very selective. Based from a longitudinal analysis, the article uncovers the inequality of access to this arrangement: far away from receiving all the students left behind by schools, apprenticeship introduces a new selection bridge moved ahead of training. © 2022 Documentation Francaise.
