Abstract

The emergence of degree apprenticeship in British vocational education has profound social motivation. Summarizing its experience will help to improve the construction of apprenticeship in China. In recent years, the UK has improved the participation of apprenticeship and quality of talent training by building a government-coordinated and employer-led governance structure, combining academic certificates with professional grade certificate, formulating a financial incentive system, promoting the upward shift of apprenticeship level, and implementing ability-oriented evaluation method. This has important enlightenment for the development of modern apprenticeship of vocational education in China: strengthen the top-level design, deepen professional training, attract the participation of stakeholders, implement the grading system and improve the quality assurance system in the construction of modern apprenticeship. © 2022 Tsinghua University Press.
