Abstract

Educational Guidance is a discipline with a significant impact on people's lives given its link to the educational environment in school and non-school contexts. From its double aspect, as a science and a profession, it responds to social needs of diverse nature through specialized help. However, its progress is related to the scientific production that facilitates knowing, deepening, and improving all the help processes generated in social contexts with an educational aspect. Given this reality, the purpose of this work is to know the current state of the research on educational guidance in Spain to provide valuable results that allow us to move it forward. For this reason, mapping has been carried out to facilitate the identification and classification of the maximum possible number of studies related to Educational Guidance in Spain. The search for scientific articles was carried out through the WoS and SCOPUS repositories using the search chain "guidance AND education AND Spain", resulting in 559 articles, of which 220 were selected after applying various inclusion criteria. Thus, the need to continue working on studies linked to non-school contexts that favour the understanding and global development of the discipline beyond the pure school setting is established. © 2022 Ediciones Universidad de Salamanca.
