Abstract

The mastery of vocational competencies becomes an important factor to facilitate the Vocational High School graduates in entering the field of work. The study aims were to determine the role of vocational knowledge, career information services, and the role of teachers in forming entrepreneurial interests among Vocational High School students in the Construction Technology and Property (CTP) Expertise Program. The research method was designed by descriptively correlational. A sample of 100 students from the CTP Expertise Program around Malang city determined by proportional random sampling. The descriptive analysis technique is used for data analysis, while the hypothesis test is performed by multiple linear regression. The finding showed that vocational knowledge, career information services, and the role of teachers have significant roles in the interest of entrepreneurship by 73.6%. and 54% of students showed a high entrepreneurial interest. An enhancement in the student's industrial experience, proper career services, and encouragement of the teacher played as potential factor to predict the increases of entrepreneurial interest as vocational competencies among students. © 2020 IEEE.
