Abstract

This paper deals with the research and development of lesson plans related to competency-based training system for practicing electrical installation professionals. It aims to develop the lesson plans and evaluate the results of their implementation as part of a competency-based training system created for the professional development of building electricians according to the standards provided by the Department of Skill Development, Ministry of Labour, Thailand. These lesson plans are to be used in the course of learning as a basis for career and technology development for high school students. The results indicate that the lesson plans developed for the topics of electrical strap belt wiring, lighting electrical systems and socket installation, are of a high quality. The evaluation of the results with regard to the use of vision and video teaching media, the arrangement of texts, images, teaching slides and teaching materials indicate that they are all at a good level. © 2020, Springer Nature Switzerland AG.
