Abstract

Initial nursing training reinforces the expected professional knowledge of the screening, evaluation and treatment of pain from the first semester of training. The student can then deploy his knowledge in an internship. At the Institute Paramedicals Sud Francilien, the pedagogical project has as its base the simulated practices in the objective of a construction of know-how and being professional. The serious game is a tool that integrates into this laboratory of skills to bring about a situation of prevalent care. In this situation, the learner makes choices of actions. At each end of use of the serious game, the session is followed by a debriefing time with a trainer trained in the health simulation. Each student exposes his actions during the serious game and argues them. The time of debriefing is an opportunity to describe the management of pain in the care situation. The trained describes his actions, the reasoning that led him to carry out such or such action and readjusts them if necessary. The group exchanges under the guidance of the trainer, the latter remobilize the knowledge acquired in vocational training. Care situations offer an activity in different hospital locations: ambulatory Surgery, pediatric emergencies, psychiatry and orthopedic surgery. In these situations, nociceptive pain is addressed for screening, assessment and therapeutic management. © 2019 Elsevier Masson SAS
