Abstract

Internship is one way to improve the ability of workers in the industry. Problems that exist in apprenticeship monitoring have not been effective. This study aims to 1) review the effective management of internship, 2) describe the improved quality of learning in vocational high school toward industry 4.0. 3) illustrate the conceptual model of e-monprakerin in vocational high school. The management of internship consists of planning, organizing, actuating and controlling. This research is qualitative descriptive research based on the literature as an effort to maximize the management of internship in vocational high schools to support the end goals of the industry 4.0. The industry 4.0 covers the automation and digital data exchange in the industrial technology including cyber-physical systems, the internet of thing, cloud computing and cognitive computing. The results show that the internship management has found the weaknesses in some aspects that are planning process, organization, actuation and control. Conceptually, the inadequacies of the internship monitoring can be minimized through the additional elements of e-monprakerin. © 2019 Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.
