The Teacher–AI–Student Triadic Model is proposed as a conceptual framework for advancing sustainable and human-centred artificial intelligence (AI) integration in vocational education. Responding to the growing demand for work-ready and sustainability-oriented graduates, the model reconceptualises the roles of teachers, students , and AI systems within AI-enhanced learning environments. Developed through a conceptual research methodology, the model draws on an in-depth literature review and synthesises constructivist learning theory, social learning theory, and competency-based education. It emphasises dynamic interactions among teachers, AI, and students as central to fostering adaptive learning, ethical reasoning, and sustainable thinking. Within the triadic structure, teachers function as ethical mentors and learning architects, students as self-regulated and adaptive learners, and AI as an intelligent collaborator supporting personalised learning and formative assessment. The model illustrates potential applications in vocational contexts, including green technology simulations, virtual laboratories, AI-supported assessment, and sustainability-oriented entrepreneurship training. By embedding the Sustainable Development Goals as a core pedagogical capability rather than a peripheral objective, the model offers a vocationally specific, ethically grounded framework aligned with the transition toward Society 5.0. This study contributes a structured foundation for future empirical research, policy development, and responsible AI implementation in vocational education. © Universiti Telekom Sdn Bhd.

Extra-curricular activities do not involve grading or credit awards towards student’s academic performance. This makes them ‘inconsequential’ to many students or parents whose concern is the final degree and see them as an opportunity cost or as zero sum activity further aggravated by universities rarely or never funding them. Participation in extra-curricular activities depends on students ’ motivation and goal achievement through the activity. Depth and width of benefits from the self-regulated learning is driven by student’s readiness to gain from the activity and super ordinated goals on future use of the skills and competencies. This paper documents a graduate tracer study conducted on a group of students (all under full-time mode of study) who had participated in Entrepreneurial Actions in Us (ENACTUS) program as an extra-curricular activity in the Kenyan universities. The study hypothesized a positive relationship between extra-curricular activities and employability. It aimed to unearthed skills gained from ENACTUS projects and how they have contributed to graduates’ success in employability. It also looked into the uptake of self-employment by graduates and how extra-curricular activities can help. Finally, quality and relevance of training received and how it can be improved were assessed. Mixed research methodology was used. Snowball and purposive sampling method was used to get graduates who participated in ENACTUS project activities. Questionnaires were used to collect data in Google form format. Both quantitative and qualitative data were analyzed. From this study, extra-curricular activities through ENACTUS program in Kenya are giving skills which are ultimately assisting graduates to gain employability. Most of the graduates with these skills gain employability within the first 6 months. There is a paradigm shift in employability as some of the graduates are engaging in self-employment and most of those in formal employment are concurrently also engaging in self-employed activities. The study recommends change on educational policy to make extra-curricular activities prestigious by recognizing them as tools enhancing employability. Additionally, flexibility on the curricula should be encouraged to enhance relevant skills development especially in the fast-moving world as a result of technology and artificial intelligence. Recognition and appreciation of faculty advisors should also be put in practiced for 360° motivation for sense of belonging and achievement. The study also recommends flexibility on graduates for identification of opportunities and use locally available resources to solve problems. This will enable them have social enterprises and therefore bridge gaps of unemployment. © The Author(s) 2025

Visual art education for students with gifts and talents is a topic rarely explored by researchers. Many researchers examined how giftedness is defined in different cultures, but few studied the differences in services provided for students identified with gifts and talents. A comparison of visual art education in China and the United States highlighted how different cultures emphasized different aspects of visual art ability and developed different systems to cultivate artistic talent. This study explored the differences and similarities in visual art teaching in both countries, focusing on key skills that Chinese art teachers prioritize, ways that Chinese high schools support talented students , and the roles of art teachers in both countries. Using content analysis, this study examined the art curriculum standards, national policy documents on visual arts, authoritative analyses, and the official websites of five representative art universities and high schools. The findings highlighted China's emphasis on technical proficiency in art education, contrasting with the United States' focus on self-awareness and creative expression. These differences shaped art education provided for students with gifts and talents in visual arts and the students ’ development in both countries, offering valuable insights for educators and policymakers. © The Author(s) 2025

The positive outcomes associated with elevated levels of efficacy beliefs have sparked interest in examining the sources of such beliefs. Mastery experience, vicarious experience, verbal persuasion and psychological state are all crucial for self-efficacy. In this systematic literature review, we examined the characteristics of the accumulated body of research on the sources of mathematics and science self-efficacy in primary and secondary education. The aim was to understand how the reviewed studies contribute to the discussion of students ' mathematics and science self-efficacy development. We implemented a comprehensive search strategy for academic databases based on our research questions and inclusion/exclusion criteria, aligning with recommendations for systematic reviews. The analysis included 139 studies, and revealed that the research on mathematics and science self-efficacy development can be divided into three categories. The first category comprises 40 studies that assess Bandura's sources of self-efficacy, while the second includes 30 studies that refer to his sources. By contrast, the 69 studies that comprise the third category do not explicitly measure or discuss Bandura's sources of self-efficacy. The distribution of this research worldwide is clustered—that is, some countries have engaged in more active research and publication on this topic than others. A reliance on quantitative methodologies is evident, whereby ‘construct confusion’ hinders opportunities for direct comparison among studies. While attempts have been made to rate the sources, they are perceived as interconnected and varying between genders. Hence, we adopted a critical stance and highlighted several shortcomings that must be considered when designing future research. © 2025 The Authors.

The modern educational system is rapidly evolving due to Artificial Intelligence (AI) adoption worldwide. However, existing literature lacks empirical support on how AI effects student engagement, and learning outcomes in the educational institutions of Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA). Therefore, this research examines the role of AI-based learning tools in affecting psychological factors (e.g., autonomy, competence, intrinsic motivations, self-efficacy, and social influence). Furthermore, it also investigates the ultimate impacts of these relationships in explaining student's learning and engagement in Hail region of KSA. This research was carried using a cross-sectional design. A structured and closed ended survey was conducted with undergraduate students of University of Ha'il in KSA. The hypotheses were tested using structural equation modeling (SEM) as a method of estimation. The finding confirmed that AI tools have a positive and significant impact on psychological factors. Moreover, a partial mediation of student's engagement was also confirmed to explain the impact of AI tools on employability, academic success and empowerment. However, it was found that competence strongly reduces engagement due to some contextual, cultural or regional dynamics for which a qualitative study is needed. The findings require the policymakers and educational institutions to design some customized AI tools. These tools must fulfill the social, educational and motivational needs of students and help them to achieve better academic outcomes. This research contributes theoretically and empirically for uninvestigated context of educational institutions in KSA. It further provides practical suggestions for possible adoption of AI tools in academia to fulfill vision 2030. © 2025 The Authors

Intercultural competence is recognised as a key element in the modern world, where openness to diversity contributes to effective international communication and deeper understanding, tolerance, and joint development in an intercultural environment. The aim of this study was to determine the impact of internationalisation of the educational process on the development of students ’ intercultural competencies. A diagnostic test of relations was used to diagnose the intensity of the ethnic stereotype. The intercultural competence was measured according to the adapted scale of Fantini and Tirmizi and the cultural intelligence scale (CQS). A questionnaire was developed to determine students ’ satisfaction with studying under the internationalisation programme. The obtained results (Uemp=113students generally had a positive ethnic stereotype, and the internationalisation programme increased the growth of indicators of intercultural competence according to all criteria. The results show that students generally are highly satisfied with studying in exchange programmes. The prospect for further research is the study of the influence of intercultural communication on students ’ academic performance. © 2026, Intelektual Pustaka Media Utama. All rights reserved.

This study evaluates whether physics electronic teaching materials integrated with local wisdom and implemented through a STEM water purification project improve high school students ’ problem-solving skills. A quasi-experimental two-group pretest–posttest design compared an experimental class receiving physics electronic teaching materials (PETM)-based STEM instruction with a control class following conventional lessons, using an assessment aligned to the Osborn-Parnes framework. The experimental class achieved significantly higher gains across all indicators and a consistently high effect size. The intervention is effective because PETM contextualizes abstract static-fluid concepts, weaves indigenous knowledge into meaningful tasks, structures inquiry through project-based STEM cycles, and provides guided reflection that turns ideas into feasible solutions. The approach advances 21st-century competencies, supports clean water literacy, and offers a scalable design for physics teaching aligned with sustainable development goals. The trial occurred in one school; future studies should broaden contexts and topics while retaining the local wisdom–infused, project-centred design. © School of Engineering, Taylor’s University.

This study aimed to examine the impact of a science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics (STEAM)-based sustainable city project on the ecoliteracy of elementary school students within the context of sustainable development goals (SDGs). Using a pre-experimental One-Shot Case Study design and a mixed-methods approach, data were collected through tests, questionnaires, documentation, and interviews. The results demonstrated improvement in students ’ knowledge and attitudes regarding sustainability and environmental responsibility. This occurred because the integration of science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics helped students understand ecological issues and develop solutions through contextual learning. Additionally, qualitative data showed enhanced skills in critical thinking and collaboration during project implementation. The project motivated students by involving them in real-world applications aligned with the SDGs. This suggests that combining STEAM and SDG principles in project-based learning can meaningfully foster ecoliteracy at the elementary level. © School of Engineering, Taylor’s University.

This study critically examines the complex interplay between student motivation, university effectiveness, and employability, situating it within the broader context of educational pathways, societal expectations, and labor market transformation. Using a qualitative, multi-method design integrating systematic literature analysis, reflective field observations, and contextual synthesis, the study explores the key factors influencing students ’ decisions to pursue university degrees, including intrinsic and extrinsic motivations, academic preparedness, perceived value for money, and expectations of long-term employability. Findings indicate persistent gaps between graduate skills and labor market demands, highlighting the importance of curriculum alignment, experiential learning, professional certifications, and alternative pathways such as vocational training and online platforms. The study contributes a novel framework that systematically links student motivation, institutional effectiveness, and employability, offering practical guidance for universities and policymakers to enhance student engagement, workforce readiness, and curricular relevance. Beyond academic and professional outcomes, the study underscores higher education’s broader social role in fostering innovation, civic engagement, and lifelong learning. This study aimed to assess the impact of a business-oriented educational course on the development of key components of entrepreneurial thinking among pre-service primary school teachers. The research involved 220 students from M. Dulati Taraz University. A pre-test/post-test design was used with an author-developed questionnaire. Entrepreneurial thinking was assessed both before and immediately after the course. Statistical analysis revealed a significant increase in the overall level of entrepreneurial thinking and its key components, including initiative, creativity, risk-taking, result orientation, and persistence. The course featured innovative teaching methods such as project-based learning, case studies, and business games, and was offered as an elective module on an experimental educational platform. The findings are consistent with international research, highlighting the importance of integrating entrepreneurial thinking into teacher training to enhance professional preparedness. These findings can help shape modern educational programs in Kazakhstan and the countries of the Commonwealth of Independent States, in line with global trends and the challenges of the 21st century. © 2026 Institute of Advanced Engineering and Science.
