This study aims to analyze effect the learning model of Ethno-pedagogy Education for Sustainable Development (Ethno-ESD) to improve sustainable attitudes of students in the higher education. The Ethno-ESD approach combines aspects of Ethno- pedagogy with education for sustainable development, with an emphasis on developing social awareness and environmental responsibility. The research method used is critical analysis through case studies in several higher education institutions. Research instruments include class observation, interviews with teachers, and data collection through questionnaires for students. The collected data is analyze using triangulation to ensure the validity of the results. The results of the study were able to provide deep insight into the effectiveness of the Ethno-ESD learning model in changing student attitudes toward aspects of sustainability. The implications of this research can provide guidance for the development of more effective learning strategies in higher education contexts to encourage awareness and ongoing responsibility among students. © 2025 Malque Publishing. Traditional lectures in architectural engineering often fall short of effectively conveying practical applications. This study introduces a hybrid teaching approach that integrates structured field trips with traditional lectures based on Kolb’s four-step experiential learning cycle to address this. An experimental design was implemented to assess the impact of this method on achieving core Course learning Outcomes (CLOs). Using SPSS, independent-sample t-tests, and one-way ANOVA, we compared CLO scores across intervention groups, student seniority levels, and field trip frequency. At the same time, multiple linear regression analyses were used to analyze the influence of students’ attitudes, prior experiences, and enjoyment on the CLO scores. CLO achievement was further validated through the Course learning Outcome Analysis Tool (COAT). The findings reveal that students exposed to field trips performed significantly better, particularly freshmen and junior students, who showed greater knowledge gains than their senior peers. Additionally, a higher frequency of trips was associated with improved academic performance, and students’ positive attitudes, prior exposure, and enjoyment of field trips positively influenced their CLO outcomes. These results underscore the effectiveness of integrating experiential learning into architectural engineering education, offering a compelling supplement to conventional lectures and addressing the limitations of traditional instructional methods by fostering deeper, more meaningful student engagement and learning . © 2025 by the authors.

Project-based learning (PBL) is a student-centered, inquiry-based approach in which students design and execute projects that address meaningful challenges. Over time, PBL has been adapted across various educational levels, disciplines, and cultural contexts, leading to a diverse body of knowledge. Given these variations, it is crucial to systematize existing research to identify well-established aspects and areas that require further exploration. This study conducts a systematic review following the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) methodology. It uses the foundational PBL model as a reference to analyze its essential elements in design and implementation, particularly in terms of their contribution to sustainable education. A total of 25 studies were included in the final review sample. The research aims to examine current practices and identify gaps or inconsistencies in application. The qualitative analysis highlights crucial aspects such as project design, evaluation strategies, and interdisciplinary alignment. Findings reveal challenges in ensuring consistency across practices, with a predominant focus on procedural execution. However, the review also uncovers that existing studies address cognitive and socio-emotional dimensions in ways that require further investigation. Based on these findings, the study proposes a refined framework for the implementation of PBL, aiming to guide more effective and context-sensitive applications. These findings underscore the need for further exploration of how PBL can holistically support learner growth, enhance engagement, and contribute to more sustainable and impactful educational practices. Theoretical implications point to a deeper understanding of how PBL can integrate cognitive, emotional, and interdisciplinary components to foster this holistic development, while operational implications highlight the importance of institutional support, teacher training, and flexible curricular policies to ensure successful and sustainable implementation. © 2025 by the authors.

The education paradigm oriented towards key competence development has shaped national curricula across the world, including Serbia. In line with this trend, the academic year of 2020/21 saw the introduction of the Economics and Business elective into grammar schools. Considering that every educational change requires monitoring and evaluation to provide decision-makers with information based on research data, this paper presents the findings of a qualitative study conducted as part of a larger mixed-methods evaluative research project. The study aimed to provide a deeper insight into teachers’ opinions and experiences regarding certain characteristics of this elective program and its implementation in the third and fourth grades of grammar school in Serbia. It encompassed three semi-structured group interviews involving 19 teachers (55.6%) who taught this elective (six to eight respondents per group). A five-phase inductive-deductive qualitative analysis was conducted. Based on teachers’ narratives, three themes were identified pertaining to experience with implementing the Economics and Business elective: 1) Program Content Contributes to the Youth’s Quality of Life and Education; 2) Program Implementation is Dynamic, Comprehensive, and Supportive of Teacher Autonomy; 3) Challenges in Program Preparation and Implementation. Teachers recognized the contents encompassed by the Economics and Business elective as relevant to grammar school students’ education. Inquiry- and project-based learning constituted a didactic-methodical solution that afforded teachers greater organizational freedom and autonomy while simultaneously motivating students to be more engaged in class. The observed challenges and difficulties in implementing the program were mostly organizational. Background: Critical thinking is fundamental to teaching history, yet student analysis is often limited by traditional methods that rely primarily on lecture. Using local Indigenous history in context and accessing multimodal digital materials enhances the learning experience and encourages active thinking at a higher level. Objective of the Study: This study investigates the digitalised multimodal as a resource in learning that focuses on Banyumas Indigenous Cultural History in the social studies subject and its effect on students' critical thinking skills. Methodology: This study utilised the research and development (R&D) design using the Alessi and Trollip model, which incorporates the planning, design, and development stages. Within the study, a sample of 32 high school students and five validators (content specialists and media specialists) was used using an expert approach. The assessment was done through pre-test and post-test evaluations, observations, expert validation, and student interviews. Quantitative analysis was used to evaluate the increase in the level of critical thinking, whereas qualitative analysis focused on the students' engagement and experiences. Results: Improvement of critical thinking skills. Students who utilised multimodal digital materials did better in their post-tests than those taught differently. Experts reviewed the teaching materials and considered them “highly appropriate” with regard to content, accuracy, and visual appeal as well as interactivity. Students’ engagement in learning increased, especially with the interactive visual and audio elements, which fostered a greater bond to the historical narratives. Unique Contribution: This study combines multimodal digital learning and indigenous history to enhance critical thinking within a history teaching framework. Unlike most research, it approaches digital learning from a place-based storytelling perspective, which helps students contextualise and engage with history at a deeper level. Conclusion: The incorporation of multimodal digital teaching materials in history lessons empowers students with good critical thinking skills while providing an engaging and reflective space to learn. It encourages learners to actively participate, consider learning from different perspectives, and step outside the confines of the classroom. Key Recommendation: Schools and all other educational institutions should strive to integrate local history with modern digital and other multi-modal technology to enhance their relevance and appeal. Researchers could delve deeper into tailoring and scaling this approach for students from diverse cultural and historical backgrounds. © 2025, University of Nigeria Department of Mass Communication. The university is a space for academic learning , as well as a key environment for developing professional, social and emotional competencies. The aim of this study is to determine the relationship between emotional intelligence and social skills as predictor variables of generic professional competencies of university students, influencing their well-being and academic performance. A non-experimental ex post facto, quantitative, descriptive and causal cross-sectional design was used. The sample, selected by stratified sampling, reached 423 students (78.90% female, 21.10% male). Social skills were measured with the Social Skills Scale by Gismero (2002), emotional intelligence with the TMMS-24 by Fernández-Berrocal et al. (2004), and competencies with the CECGEU by Solanes-Puchol et al. (2008). SPSS and AMOS 26.0 programs were used for data analysis, performing a descriptive analysis to analyze the relationship between variables and a structural equation model was developed to deepen the causal relationships of the variables. Significantly positive correlations were identified between social skills and generic professional competencies. Conversely, negative correlations were observed between emotional intelligence and both variables. The results indicated a negative effect of emotional intelligence on competencies, while social skills had a positive influence. A significant negative relationship was also observed between emotional intelligence and social skills. The study confirms the importance of social skills as a predictor of competence development. However, emotional intelligence showed a negative relationship with competencies, which contradicts previous studies. This suggests that greater emotional intelligence does not always translate into greater professional competencies, opening new lines of research on this interaction. © 2025, Universidad Nacional de Educacion a Distancia (UNED). The rapidly evolving field of digital entrepreneurial education has been significantly shaped by advancements in technologies such as augmented reality (AR), virtual reality (VR), and artificial intelligence (AI). While these technologies have opened new possibilities for entrepreneurial learning , much of the existing research is fragmented, focusing on isolated tools or specific interventions. This piecemeal approach complicates efforts to identify overarching trends, theoretical frameworks, and practical applications relevant to educators, policymakers, and researchers. To address these challenges, this study employs a Bibliometric-Systematic Literature Review (B-SLR) methodology, combining quantitative bibliometric analysis with qualitative synthesis to offer a comprehensive and balanced perspective on the field. We reviewed 261 articles published between 2005 and 2024, capturing diverse geographical regions, subject areas, and publication outlets. This approach enabled us to identify prevalent research themes, uncover emerging methodologies, and highlight areas that warrant deeper investigation. Our analysis revealed four main clusters: (1) Technology-Enhanced Entrepreneurship Education, examining how AR, VR, AI, and digital platforms foster engagement and skill-building; (2) Experiential and Project-Based learning Approaches, highlighting gamification, simulations, and collaborative projects that stimulate practical competencies and adaptability; (3) Entrepreneurial Competencies, Mindset, and Social Dimensions, exploring cultural, generational, and gender-related factors that shape learner readiness and intentions; and (4) Future-Oriented and Transformative Approaches, emphasizing sustainability, global collaborations, and ethical considerations that guide the long-term evolution of entrepreneurial learning . The findings indicate that technological tools alone do not guarantee enhanced entrepreneurial outcomes. Instead, successful digital entrepreneurial education relies on cultural relevance, supportive policies, comprehensive educator training, and inclusive pedagogical designs. The study proposes an integrative framework that synthesizes technological, experiential, socio-cultural, and forward-looking strategies, offering actionable insights for improving educational practices and advancing theoretical understanding in the field. This research highlights critical areas for future exploration, including the development of learner-centred curricula, investments in digital infrastructure, and the promotion of international collaborations. By addressing these gaps, stakeholders can establish adaptable, inclusive, and ethically grounded ecosystems that equip learners with the skills and mindset needed to navigate the complexities of entrepreneurship in an increasingly dynamic global environment. © The Authors.
